Flight Simulator Cockpit Plans

flight simulator cockpit rodger dodgerThe next step up from getting a great Flight Simulator Joystick is to build or buy a Flight Simulator Cockpit. A home built cockpit can provide a great deal of satisfaction to the handy person. Your realism and immersion factor will rise to new unexpected heights.

You don't have to go all out of course. There is a lot of styles and aircraft to simulate. Some flight simulator cockpit enthusiasts go for ultimate realism and make an exact replica of the cockpit for their favorite aircraft.

Most people go for generalisations. The main aim, for most people interested in a Flight Simulator Cockpit is to be able to fly from takeoff to touchdown without using the keyboard or mouse.

A lot depends on your budget. If you have lots of surplus funds you can go all out and have rudder pedals, multiple screens, 3D stereoscopic setups, big booming speakers so you can enjoy the sound of the massive jets propelling you along the runway, and the list goes on.

The smaller budget can also cope however. With rudder pedals, a throttle quadrant and joystick, monitor, speakers and some flight switch panels you should be able to create a rig that does not require input from the keyboard or mouse. It's a lot of fun to build and own your own flilght simulator cockpit and can make your flight simulator epxerience a lot more realistic and enjoyable.
